The 2018 batch MBBS student, who hailed from Bangalore, was admitted in the psychiatry ward of the hospital and was undergoing treatment for some mental health problem. He had taken an hours' break from the ward. He then apparently reached the hostel 19 roof from where he jumped, AIIMS sources said. The incident was reported to the police at around 6 pm. The incident comes less than a week after a 37-year-old journalist, who was undergoing treatment for Covid-19 at AIIMS Delhi, killed self by jumping off the fourth floor of the hospital on June 6. A junior doctor at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) died by suicide by jumping off the 10th floor of the hospital on Friday evening. As per the administration, the 25-year-old junior doctor, identified as Anurag Kumar, was shifted to AIIMS Casualty but succumbed to his injuries later. The incident took place at around 5.00 pm.
